FAQ and NPFD Policies

Tip: If it is raining/snowing, or precipitation is in the forecast, turn off and unplug all your Christmas lights. Leaving lights on during precipitation can cause the lights to short circuit and go out.

Q: Are there electrical requirements for my home?
A: Yes, a large number of lights will require a dedicated circuit. NPFD will not be held responsible for inadequate, faulty, or overloaded electrical sources at the place of service. You may be required to provide an electrical connection from inside the house or hire an electrician to ensure minimal electrical requirements.

Q: What if I have my own lights?
A: Most Christmas lights last a maximum of 2 to 3 years. NPFD uses brand new high grade, low-voltage lights that last 3-5 years on average. To ensure optimal performance of your lights throughout the holiday season we will only install and guarantee lights owned by us. This alleviates issues such as strand burn out often encountered with pre-owned generic lights.

Q: Will you install “Icicle” style lights?
A: No. While many people like the look of the icicle lights, NPFD will not install these lights due to their very poor performance. We do offer other decorative designs that will give the same warm, classic look the icicle lights provide.

Q: Will you put up lights inside our home?
A: No. We only provide exterior services.

Q: What happens if our lights go out?
A: First check the GFCI circuits on the timers and in your house and reset them if necessary. (These are usually located in garages and wet areas) This is the most common reason lights go out. If this does not resolve the situation call NPFD immediately and we will respond within 48 hours guaranteed. If the problem is determined to be your equipment there will be a $30.00 service charge.

Q: Where does NPFD get their square footage numbers?
A: To avoid any conflicts, NPFD determines a home’s square footage by checking with the county tax records.

**If you add items (displays, blow molds, etc.) to NPFD’s final display and problems arise, a minimum service charge of $30.00 will be assessed to come out and fix them.

Hi, I would like you to put up lights inside my home. Will you make an exeption for family? and drive to South Arlington?
